Last year's low test scores have triggered so many changes that cause some students to become suspicious of what the new staff members are up to. Some of the Latchkey Kids uncover a conspiracy so deep and complicated that their lives are put at risk and they are tempted to turn against each other. Could it be that this is the end of the Latchkey Kids? Will this conspiracy tear them apart and break their friendship? Or will it be the last thing they learn?
